Getting Started

This guide walks you through creating your WazBot account, connecting WhatsApp, and deploying your first AI agent — all in under 5 minutes.

Prerequisites

  • A Meta Business Account (free to create at business.facebook.com)
  • A WhatsApp Business phone number (can be a new or existing number)
  • A valid email address for your WazBot account

Step 1: Create Your Account

  1. Visit the WazBot dashboard and click Sign Up.
  2. Enter your email, create a password, and verify your email address.
  3. Complete the onboarding wizard by providing your business name and industry.
Plans & trial
If a trial is available for your account, you can explore WazBot before subscribing. See Billing for the current plans and what each includes.

Step 2: Connect WhatsApp

  1. In the dashboard, navigate to Settings → WhatsApp.
  2. Click Connect WhatsApp and follow the Meta embedded signup flow.
  3. Select (or create) the phone number you want to use.
  4. Grant the required permissions when prompted.

Once connected, you’ll see a green “Connected” badge next to your phone number. For detailed instructions, see WhatsApp Setup.

Step 3: Create Your First Agent

  1. Go to Agents → New Agent.
  2. Give your agent a name (e.g., “Support Agent”).
  3. Choose the model, if your plan offers a choice.
  4. Write a system prompt that describes how the agent should behave.

Here’s an example system prompt:

Example System Prompt
text
You are a friendly customer support assistant for Acme Corp.
You help customers with order tracking, returns, and product questions.

Guidelines:
- Always be polite and professional
- If you don't know the answer, say so honestly
- For billing issues, escalate to a human agent
- Respond in the same language the customer uses

Step 4: Test Your AI Agent

  1. Click the Test button in the agent editor.
  2. Send a message in the built-in chat simulator.
  3. Verify the response matches your expectations.

You can also send a real WhatsApp message to your connected number to test the end-to-end flow.

Step 5: Go Live

  1. Toggle the agent status to Active.
  2. Your AI agent is now live and will automatically respond to incoming WhatsApp messages.
Congratulations!
Your AI agent is now live. Customers can message your WhatsApp number and receive AI-powered responses instantly.
